*PERSONAL DISCLAIMER: I would like to mention that at the time of making my choices for Best of 2013 I still have yet to see some of Films which could be major contenders such as: Prisoners, Rush and The Selfish Giant. Like-wise with a couple albums I have only just discovered but haven’t had the time to fully enjoy such as Modern Baseball’s Sports and Albums from Arcade Fire and Portugal. The Man.

In 2012 I succeeded in going to 12 Music Gigs in 12 months. This year, I have not been to 12 music gigs but I have been to twelve gigs if i include a couple other shows. It’s been a busy year but the shows were part of the fun along the way. My favourite two shows of the year also happen to be my favourite two bands of 2013. Without a doubt both Grouplove and The Front Bottoms put on two of the best shows I have ever been to. On top of these twelve shows I had the pleasure to go to my first ever Award Ceremonies. The BAFTA Craft Awards and the Pro Sound Awards. Where we also won an award at each ceremony. I have included a little gallery of photos from the gigs and the full 2013 gig list below.

In the same league as Game Of Thrones and Breaking Bad and even wins over Orange Is The New Black. Very proud to have worked on the ITV Series Broadchurch which The Guardian has voted #5 Best Tv Show of 2013.

An Audio Substitute For Pill Boxes.

Recently we had to do a scene which involved a pharmacy break in and robbery and we needed the sound of lots of pills rattling away. Of course you can’t go out and buy lots of pills due to shop restrictions and after all the sound of actual pills is quite small. We wanted something bigger and ballsier to break through and be heard by the audience amongst everything else that was going on. So we went for plastic chewing gum containers and it worked rather nicely.

Congratulations to Magic Light Pictures on their 2013 BAFTA Best Children's Animation win.

Donated to me by a friend. I now have this great heavy duty pick axe to add to the props collection. The tricky part was getting it to the studio on the train without scaring fellow passengers.

Watch Lucan (Part 1 of 2) on ITV 9:00pm, Wednesday 11 December. Part 2 Airs Wednesday 18th or catch it on ITV iPlayer.

You can look everywhere and spend lots of money for good props but it's hard to beat the props you can find for free on the street. Found this till one rainy morning left to be picked up with the rubbish and it's one of my best finds to date. As luck would have it i even had a spare foley key that fits the till and it even still works. Win.

Blue Bloods Season 4 UK Premier starts on Sky tonight. Watch the whole season Thursdays at 9pm on Sky Atlantic.

We wanted poker chips that sounded heavier and ‘posher’ than your average plastic poker set so decided to go to the local casino for some chips.

We had to return them once we were finished (despite my suggestion to try and double our money).
