In 2012 I succeeded in going to 12 Music Gigs in 12 months. This year, I have not been to 12 music gigs but I have been to twelve gigs if i include a couple other shows. It’s been a busy year but the shows were part of the fun along the way. My favourite two shows of the year also happen to be my favourite two bands of 2013. Without a doubt both Grouplove and The Front Bottoms put on two of the best shows I have ever been to. On top of these twelve shows I had the pleasure to go to my first ever Award Ceremonies. The BAFTA Craft Awards and the Pro Sound Awards. Where we also won an award at each ceremony. I have included a little gallery of photos from the gigs and the full 2013 gig list below.

Recently we had to do a scene which involved a pharmacy break in and robbery and we needed the sound of lots of pills rattling away. Of course you can’t go out and buy lots of pills due to shop restrictions and after all the sound of actual pills is quite small. We wanted something bigger and ballsier to break through and be heard by the audience amongst everything else that was going on. So we went for plastic chewing gum containers and it worked rather nicely.
We wanted poker chips that sounded heavier and ‘posher’ than your average plastic poker set so decided to go to the local casino for some chips.
We had to return them once we were finished (despite my suggestion to try and double our money).
